Where to find wedding cake supplies and pictures of wedding cakes
Wedding cake supplies and ideas can be hard to find. Despite the fact that I've been decorating wedding cakes for close to 15 years now, I still have trouble sometimes finding what I need in local stores or online. Fear not, however! I've hunted down the best sources for you! :) More on that in a second ... In the meantime, I want to let you know that one of my personal favorite parts of the reception — and the part of your reception that your guests will remember for years to come — is your wedding cake, which is why it really helps to know a little about cakes before you decide what to do. |
Simply looking for ideas to show your local bake shop?
We highly recommend this resource, which gives you instant access to more than 1,300 pictures of wedding cakes. I've not seen another source like it! The photos are beautiful, creative and will give you plenty of ideas for your own wedding cake.

Need a good baker in your area?
The best way to hire a cake decorator is word of mouth — not just a quick flip through the Yellow Pages or a search online. You should definitely look for a cake decorator in your local area.
Remember to make a deposit well in advance (usually a month or two in smaller areas, up to 6 months in advance in larger cities) to ensure that you can have exactly the cake you want by the decorator you want.

On a budget? Want to decorate your own cake?If you have never decorated a cake before, I highly recommend that you find someone else to decorate the cake for you. Weddings are stressful enough without having a huge cake to decorate and get set up before the party! I decorated my own cake and very nearly wish I hadn't -- despite the fact that I was happier with the results and I got to make my favorite flavor of homemade cake. :) So I guess it wasn't all bad!
